We collect personal information necessary to operate our youth mountain bike programs safely and effectively.

Information Parents/Guardians Provide

  • Parent/guardian full name

  • Child’s full name and date of birth

  • Contact information (email, phone number, mailing address)

  • Emergency contact information

  • Medical information relevant to participation (allergies, medical conditions, injuries)

  • Signed waivers and consent forms

  • Payment information (processed securely through third-party providers)

Automatically Collected Website Information

When you visit our website, we may collect:

This information helps us improve our website experience and services.

 

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Register riders in programs

By registering for Trail Rippers programs or submitting information through our website, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information as described in this policy.

Parents or legal guardians must provide consent for participants under 18 years of age.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 11). Please note that withdrawing consent may affect your child’s ability to participate in programs.

 

4. Photo and Media Consent

Trail Rippers may take photographs and videos during programs, camps, lessons, and events.

These images or recordings may be used for:

  • Social media posts

  • Promotional materials

  • Email newsletters

  • Print materials

  • Program marketing

We will obtain explicit parental or guardian consent through our registration process or a separate media release form before using identifiable images of participants.

If you provide consent and later wish to withdraw it, you may contact us in writing. We will make reasonable efforts to stop future use of the image; however, previously published materials (such as printed brochures or social media posts already shared) may not be fully retractable.

We do not sell or license participant images to third parties.

 

5. Protection of Children’s Information

Trail Rippers provides services to children under 18. We only collect personal information about minors with parental or guardian knowledge and consent.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental involvement.

 

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

We may share personal information with:

  • Coaches and staff (for safety and program delivery)

  • Third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, registration platforms, email marketing tools)

  • Insurance providers (if required for claims)

  • Emergency services if required for participant safety

All third-party service providers are required to maintain appropriate privacy and security safeguards.

Under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), individuals have the right to:

Trail Rippers is responsible for personal information under its control and has designated a Privacy Contact (see Section 11) to ensure compliance with PIPA.
